Life is a journey,
filled with all kinds of wonders and opportunities
for growth and new discoveries.
No matter our age, there are new things to learn.
For the younger ones in our midst:
We have a special time of learning for children Preschool through 6th Grade, during worship on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month from September to May. Children start off in worship with their family, and then head off with their teachers for fun and learning as they explore God's love and grace for our lives.
During the year there are several opportunities for family fun. There is the annual Easter Egg Hunt, Vacation Bible School, Worship in the Park, Game Nights and more.
From September to May children have the opportunity for their own faith exploration. On the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month, children head out with their teachers after the opening part of worship for a fun time of learning. We use curriculum from Seasons of the Spirit that is lectionary based. That means the children are exploring the same scriptures as their parents and grandparents on any given Sunday. This creates a great opportunity for family discovery as well.
Vacation Bible School 2018 is coming!
We had such a great time last year (2017) at Heroes Central
with songs, stories, games, weird science, crafts and yummy snacks, that we decided to do it again.
This year come join us for a Rolling River Rampage, July 29 - August 1, from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. You'll get to meet Romper, a river otter and ride along for adventures as we learn more about God's love, peace and joy given to us in Jesus.
While you're waiting for this river adventure to arrive, check out the photos from last year's fun.
Discipleship is a life long venture... we never stop learning and growing...
So, for our older members there are opportunities throughout the year for study groups and more. In the past we've stretched our spirits and fed our souls on a Study of John's Gospel, What's So Amazing about Grace, and a book club sort of discussion on Hotdogs and Hamburgers.
This fall we'll have a 5 week study of Marcus Borg's Embracing An Adult Faith, offering time to explore the meaning of our faith.
In the early Spring, women from 4 churches get together at Lakeside Lodge in Pinedale. Along the lovely shoreline of Fremont Lake, we explore ways to strengthen our relationship with God and each other through spiritual practices.
Our 2018 retreat was in March, with Candise Woods as our Leader. Our theme was Living Compassionately
